River Hills, WI Hallway Bathroom Remodel

This hallway bathroom underwent a dramatic transformation to improve both functionality and aesthetics. The original layout was cramped and visually cluttered, featuring a stacked laundry unit with a vent pipe extending through the window. A double vanity, full tub, and toilet also dominated the room, crowding the space and limiting ease of movement.

COR Improvements reimagined the entire layout. The laundry unit was relocated to a newly created laundry area on the second floor—part of a prior COR Improvements project in which two bedrooms and two bathrooms were converted into a master suite and bath, a laundry room, and guest bathroom. With the second-floor renovation complete, COR returned to overhaul the hallway bath.

Key structural updates included removing the soffits above the sink to open up the space and replacing the double vanity with a more appropriately sized single vanity, ideal for a bathroom primarily used by guests and family. The bathtub was eliminated in favor of a sleek glass-door shower, which now serves as a visual focal point when entering the room. A dual-function shower setup includes both a rainhead and handheld fixture, adding flexibility for daily use. The toilet was relocated to a more discreet spot behind the door, enhancing privacy and allowing the shower and window area to shine.

The floor features cheerful 8x8 mosaic tiles that bring warmth and character. In the shower, hexagonal floor tiles complement the tan, rectangular wall tiles arranged in a classic 50% offset pattern. The maple vanity cabinetry, finished in a rich espresso stain, is topped with durable quartz countertops and matched with a coordinating framed mirror. Thoughtful touches—like detailed cabinet hardware and brushed nickel wall sconces add cohesion and charm.

This remodel blends smart layout changes with inviting design elements to create a stylish and highly functional bathroom that truly enhances the home.
